We have been blessed with the donations made directly to The Emily Victoria Solek Memorial Scholarship Fund (“The Fund”).  The Fund was legally established in June 2020 and its Board of Directors filed an application with the Internal Revenue Service to obtain tax-exempt status.  In April 2021, we formally received the approval from the IRS for tax-exempt status retroactive back to when the scholarship fund was formed.  Now, The Emily Victoria Solek Scholarship Fund is a public Internal Revenue Code Section 170(b)(1)(A)(vi) nonprofit, tax-exempt organization.  All gifts are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.  Our tax identification number is 85-1540121

With the cash donations to The Fund, we established an endowment fund in partnership with the Rochester Community Schools Foundation to provide a scholarship for Stoney Creek High School graduates for many years.  Another scholarship is being planned for rising seniors attending the Ross Business School at the University of Michigan.

Further donations are appreciated and can be made in one of two ways at this time.  Currently, you may either:

• Follow the link to the Rochester Community Schools Foundation website and follow the links to make a donation directly to the Emily Victoria Solek Memorial Fund.  The donation will be processed by the RCS Foundation, which is an IRC Section 501(c)(3) charitable organization and the donations are tax deductible to the extent allowable by law.  These donations will only be used for the high school scholarship.  Link:  https://rcs-foundation.org/scholarships/  and then click the “donate today” button near the top right.   On the page, there is a drop down arrow under “I wish to designate my donation to”, select “Emily Victoria Solek Memorial Fund”.
• Send your donation check payable to The Emily Victoria Solek Memorial Scholarship Fund in care of the Solek family residence.  You may send a Facebook messenger request to Amy Solek for the address, if needed.  This donation will be used to further the purpose of financial assistance to those pursuing a college education.  Funds may be used here for either the Stoney Creek High School scholarship or the Ross Business School scholarship (feel free to designate your wishes, and we will honor your intentions).

If you made a contribution to The Emily Victoria Solek Memorial Scholarship Fund through Facebook during 2020 and you would like a receipt from the Fund, please provide an email or address to Amy Solek on Facebook’s Messenger app and a donation receipt will be sent to you.  No such contact information was provided by Facebook, so please feel free to request a receipt for your tax records.
